Synopsis for Caprica: Pilot
On the vibrant world of Caprica, in a culture recognizably close to our own, two dynamic families - the Graystones and the Adamas - live separately on opposite ends of society until they are brought together by tragedy.
Daniel Graystone (Eric Stoltz), a computer engineering genius, owns a large corporation that is spearheading the development of artificial intelligence. His unwavering professional pursuits are driven to extreme measures when personal tragedy strikes him and his wife Amanda (Paula Malcomson): their strong-willed daughter Zoe (Alessandra Torresani) dies in a terrorist bombing fueled by an underground religious dogma. Unbeknownst to her parents, the teenager had also been dabbling in these radical teachings, which were secretly propagated by her school's headmistress, Sister Clarice Willow (Polly Walker).
Also living on Caprica but deeply entrenched in a cultural heritage that sets them apart from the rest of civilization, is the Adama clan. The family is helmed by Joseph Adama, a renowned criminal defense attorney with questionable ties and sometimes-devious methods, and father to William (Sina Najafi) and Tamara (Genevieve Beuchner). When Joseph's wife and daughter perish in the same attack that befell Zoe Graystone, Joseph's path soon crosses Daniel's, and the two become united in their grief.
Soon after, Daniel lets Joseph in on a sinister secret. He's discovered that Zoe, a computer genius in her own right, had been experimenting with perilous virtual reality technology along with her friend Lacy (Magda Apanowicz), and managed the impossible: She created a life-like avatar of herself, a perfect digital copy. Obsessed with the possibility of seeing his daughter once again, and preying on Joseph's shared emotions, Daniel implores his new confidante to help him make Zoe's vision a complete reality. Appalled by the ethical implications of recreating a soul, but aching to bring his own daughter back to life, Joseph complies...and the fate of the human race is altered forever.

Quotes from Caprica: Pilot
Cylon prototype: All targets neutralized. Program completed by your command.
Joseph Adama: I want you to know who you are. We come from a long, proud line of Tauron peasants who knew how to work the land and still stand proud. You're named after your grandfather. Did I ever tell you that?
Willie Adama: Nope.
Joseph Adama: William. He was killed during the Tauron uprising. Our last name isn't Adams. I changed it after I arrived here on Caprica. Our family name is Adama. Adama. And it's a good, honorable Tauron name.
Joan Leyte: What'd you call it?
Daniel Graystone: A cybernetic life-form node. A Cylon, Minister.
Joan Leyte: Hmm. Cylon. Interesting.

Caprica: Rebirth (Episode 2)
Synopsis for Caprica: Rebirth
Caprica is a television series set in the Battlestar Galactica universe 58 years before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. Caprica tells the story of the Adama and Graystone families on the planet Caprica and the creation of the robotic Cylons, who would later plot to destroy human civilization in retaliation for their enslavement.
Rebirth is the second episode of the series and was aired on the Syfy channel January 29, 2010. The previous episode is the Pilot and the next episode is Reins of a Waterfall.
"Zoe's attachment to the Cylon Prototype makes it difficult for Daniel and his company to duplicate success with other U-87 units. Amanda looks into her daughter's life and finds that she barely knew the real Zoe. Sister Clarice invites Lacy for dinner, as Sam begins to exert a bad influence on his nephew."
In the wake of the MAGLEV bombing that killed his daughter, Daniel Graystone plunges himself into work. He tries to figure out why he can only create a single intelligent robot, not understanding that the answer lies within the fact that part of his daughter survived the explosion and is closer to him than he could imagine. Consumed with grief, Amanda Graystone is obsessed with discovering who her daughter really was, and slowly begins piecing together the details of Zoe's life.
Zoe, trapped in the mechanical body, turns to her friend Lacy for help. At the same time, Headmistress Clarice Willow (Polly Walker) - a secret member of the shadowy "Soldiers of the One" terrorist group - is also focused on Lacy, putting the girl under pressure from all sides.
In the episode's culmination, at a memorial service for the victims of the train disaster, Joseph Adama confronts Daniel about the loss of his own daughter. Before they can come to an understanding, they are interrupted by a stunning public announcement from Amanda Graystone, who has become convinced that her daughter Zoe was to blame for the terrorist action.
Quotes from Caprica: Rebirth
Daniel Graystone: Sudden death. Graystone steps up to the line and... [throws a crumpled ball, misses goal] Graystone lines up the shot, sees the angle-[throws another ball, makes the goal] Goal! What do you say to that Serge? We've been over this!
Serge: The crowd goes frakking wild, sir. They're tearing the seats. It's bedlam. [sounds of pre-recorded cheers come from Serge]
Daniel: Thank you! Thank you!
Serge: They demand another hour of game time, sir.
Sam Adama: Stick around! Stick around! If you run away, you're guilty of two things: the thing and the running away from the thing.
Daniel Graystone: I don't even want to think about her. I know it sounds awful but... it's true. I don't... I don't want to think... I don't want to think. I just feel awful, angry and numb.
Amanda Graystone: Angry at who?
Daniel: Everybody. Everything. Myself and the world. Her. The robot.
Amanda: The robot didn't do anything.
Daniel: [chuckles] No, it didn't. I'm just going a little crazy.
Amanda: Oh really? What's that like, huh?
Daniel: Oh, like you don't know... I sure love you. And if you want to still go to the memorial, I'll go with you.
Amanda: Because you're ready to think?
Daniel: Because I promised Serge some time alone with the U-87. [Amanda laughs] I think he's got a little crush...
Amanda: No!
Daniel: It's not pretty. It's not a pretty thing, but they need to be alone.
Sam: Someone tries to make you feel guilty, you figure out what they feel guilty about. You talk about that. Also, don't smoke. You know why?
William: Uh, because it's bad for you maybe?
Sam: No. Life's bad for you. You don't smoke because they can get genetic data off a cigarette butt now.

Caprica: Reins of a Waterfall (Episode 3)
Synopsis for Caprica: Reins of a Waterfall
Reins of a Waterfall is the third episode of the series and was aired on the Syfy channel February 5, 2010. The previous episode is Rebirth and the next episode is Gravedancing.
"Daniel Graystone attempts damage control in light of his wife's false revelation that their daughter was one of the suicide bombers of Maglev 23. Meanwhile, Joseph Adama continues his pursuit of seeing the Tamara avatar again while Willie Adama and Sam Adama continue to bond."
Following Amanda's public revelation that their daughter was responsible for the MAGLEV tragedy, the Graystones must face the wrath of angry Capricans. For Daniel, this includes a confrontation with Sam and Joseph Adama, in which Joseph demands that Daniel reunite him with his daughter's avatar -- the essence of his daughter Tamara (Genevieve Buechner), living on in virtual space. Daniel also realizes he can't deal with his grief in private -- this is all going to play out on a public stage.
At the same time, Zoe Graystone adjusts to living life in a robot. She hopes her friend Lacy will help her escape to another planet -- neighboring Gemenon. Lacy is concerned, however, that she is rousing the suspicions of headmistress (and STO leader) Clarice Willow. While in V-World, the girls meet a frightened Tamara Adama who doesn't understand what she is or how she came to be here.
At the Global Defense Department, Agents Duram (Brian Markinson) and Youngblood escalate their efforts to track down the terrorist group responsible for the bombing.
Quotes from Caprica: Reins of a Waterfall
Lacy Rand: Can you be free if you're not real?
Zoe Graystone: I hope so.
Daniel Graystone: Scandals are sunburns Cyrus; they fade.
Cyrus: - or they give you cancer.
Baxter Sarno: Big news in the publishing world today. Daniel Graystone is revising his autobiography. A lot of you know it as The Man Who Could See The Future. It is now going to be titled Wow, I Didn't See That Coming.
Joseph Adama [to Sam]: Daniel Graystone lost his daughter, right? I lost my daughter and my wife. Balance it out.
